WELCOME TO UNBROKEN
MARTIAL ARTS:
WELCOME TO UNBROKEN
MARTIAL ARTS:
“WHERE TRUE SUCCES LIES
IN EFFORT AND DEDICATION.”
It is an honor to welcome you to Unbroken Martial Arts, the place where passion for martial arts is combined with a core values-based approach to learning.
Here, we firmly believe that age, ability or physical condition does not define your limits, and that effort, dedication and resilience are the pillars of success. At our academy, we believe that martial art is more than a physical discipline; it is a path to personal growth and self-improvement.
Our mission is to create true champions for life, and to that end we will work on learning values and skills that students will use throughout their lives.
Based on our experience of more than 35 years in the practice and teaching of this discipline, we believe that self-esteem, resilience, discipline, the ability to set goals and objectives and the hard work to achieve those goals and objectives are crucial to a person’s life and necessary to achieve success – in any phase, be it in sports, in the profession or even as a human being.
OUR PROGRAMS
Tiny Tigers:
For the little ones, those from 3 to 6 years old.
Here, we foster a fun and safe learning environment while introducing key concepts of self-esteem, discipline and self-defense in an accessible and friendly manner.
Juniors:
For children and adolescents ages 7 to 13.
Our approach in this group focuses on the same fundamental principles of self-esteem, discipline and self-defense, but in a more in-depth manner tailored to their stage of development.
Teens and Adults:
From age 13 and beyond.
At this stage, we focus on strengthening self-esteem and improving self-defense skills. Our goal is to help our students develop self-confidence and feel more confident in their day-to-day lives.
OUR TEACHING METHODOLOGY
NO MATTER THE PHYSICAL CONDITION OR ABILITY OF THE STUDENT, WE FOCUS OUR TEACHING ACCORDING TO THE AGE OF THE STUDENT, ENCOURAGING THE FULFILLMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES OUTLINED IN THE CURRICULUM.
DIFFERENTIATED:
TEACHING:
In our academy, the teaching is adapted and differentiated according to the age and the selected program.
It is very important to point out that in our academy, the physical, technical or skill condition is not an obstacle for the progress of the student in his journey to the black belt.
For the younger students (tigers and juniors), our teaching focuses on working on the following values;
We help the youngest to build a positive self-image and develop the confidence to face challenges.
We teach them the importance of responsibility and self-regulation, skills that will be useful in all areas of life.
We provide them with the skills necessary to protect themselves and others in potentially dangerous situations. We place a strong emphasis on prevention.
We rotate topics such as communication, self-esteem, discipline, honesty, respect and knowledge every other month to help children develop a deep understanding of these core values.
For Adults:
We focus on strengthening self-confidence, enabling our students to face life’s challenges with determination.
Most of our best champions, once youth and teenagers with low self-esteem, are now TRUE CHAMPIONS WITH VERY STRONG SELF-ESTEEM.
We provide practical tools for personal safety, helping our students feel more confident and empowered.
SETTING GOALS
AND OBJECTIVES
In all of our groups, we place special emphasis on developing the ability to set long-term goals and short-term objectives. We want each student to be able to define their personal aspirations and work hard to achieve them.
Our instructors are committed to guiding them on this journey to success.
The first goal that the student sets for himself when he starts practicing Taekwondo is to reach the Black Belt, and for this he will have to go through stages, fulfilling weekly objectives (earning the Stripes on the belt), then take the test, and then advance in rank. These steps are not only important for the martial arts, but also accustom the student to work hard to achieve the goals – tools that will help to achieve the student’s dreams both in the present and in the future.
TESTINGS
The rank exams are held every two months ( a cycle) and are designed so that the student in 8 weeks learns the belt curriculum, gains confidence and can be examined by the instructor.
As we have explained above, the student’s goal will be to reach black belt, and to do so he/she will have to meet the objectives – to take and pass his/her exams.
To pass a graduation, the student must meet requirements such as class attendance and earn – prior to graduation – the five colored stripes on his belt.
Yellow Stripe: Positive Attitude
Green Stripe: Power and persistence.
Red Stripe: Basic Techniques.
Blue Stripe: Ready to be tested.
Black Stripe: Passed the test. .
The last week of the cycle, the student will be examined by the instructors during the class, and in case the student passes the test, he/she will be able to attend the graduation day to receive his/her new rank.
The graduations have an additional cost of $ 59 -approximately- includes the rank certificate endorsed by ATA international. ATA ranks are valid all over the world.
During the calendar year we promote participation in the most important ATA events (Fall Nationals, Spring Nationals, World Championships and Florida United touranment) and the Intra-school and interschool tournaments organized by Unbroken MArtial Arts.
We highly recommend student participation in tournaments, as it involves putting classroom learning into practice, and tests the student’s personality.
In the tournaments, the student will learn to manage his or her emotions, to overcome obstacles, to tolerate the effects of adrenaline, to overcome the fear of the unknown, to test his/her self-confidence by saying “I can do this!
We highly recommend that parents and family members accompany the students to the tournaments, this way he or she will feel the support of the parents, and above all that no matter the outcome, dad, mom or grandparents will be proud of him or her for participating.
Tournaments have additional and varying costs depending on the category of the tournament.
Every month we organize activities for children such as ninja night, parents night out, movie nights, where we have recreational activities mixed with martial arts.
The extra activities are designed to offer fun moments together with their classmates, allowing parents some free time to enjoy.
Additional activities have additional costs.
We offer 3 to 6 training seminars per year. In these events we deepen the teaching of a particular subject or branch of martial arts. For example: special board breaking seminar, tournament sparring seminar, etc). .
Seminars have additional costs.
In our academy we train martial arts and many times the movements involve physical contact with another student, so the use of safety elements such as protectors is required.
Also, as part of the curriculum we teach in rotation the handling and use of weapons such as (short stick, nunchaku, long stick, double short stick, double nunchaku, Kamas, sword among others), so it is recommended the acquisition of the weapon of the corresponding cycle for hygienic and safety issues.
Weapons and safety elements have additional costs.
